NVPI
The Dutch association for producers and importers of image and sound carriers (NVPI) was established in 1973 as the representative of the recording companies. Video-film distributors joined in 1983 and entertainment software producers joined in 1996. Each department has its own management. The NVPI's three departments form a federation. The NVPI represents major as well as smaller, independent producers. The management structure guarantees that each associated company has influence within the department as a whole.
In terms of overall turnover, the NVPI represents approximately 85% of recording companies, 80% of video-film companies and 50% of entertainment software. The NVPI's purpose is to provide its sectors with the best representation in government, the press, politics and relevant consultative bodies. In so doing, it creates the most rewarding business climate possible. The NVPI also supplies its members with various services exclusively or at a reduced rate.
The NVPI is affiliated to the international umbrella organisations IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) and IVF (International Video Federation).
NVPI activities
